26 years old artist from Copenhagen, DK.
The labelowner of Kondi Records.
Got interested in electronic music in the early 90īs when his sister bought a few house-records for some dance-lessons.
Started making music around 1994 with a tracker program (OctaMed v.2) for Amiga.
Later replaced the Amiga with a synthesizer and an Atari and found out that Midi was a cool feature and gave him some new ideas - bought a lot more gear and the analogue way impressed him very much.
Making noises and cool basslines / soundscapes made him change his set-up very often and a lot of old synths have been "taken care of"...
Around 2000 he got signed first time at SuperBra (Switzerland) and at the same time got in contact with Charlie Hall / Rob Jarvis (Pro-Jex) which brought up the "war on wheels ep".
At the same time he impressed the team of Djax Up Beats and got offered two releases there.
In 2001 the second release at Pro-Jex came and was actually called "Kondi ep".
Until now the style has been a mixture of Chicago-tech and freaky electronic but was changing to be more Ruben himself...
One track ("running scared") from the Kondi ep was used in Dave Clarke's World Services CD/LP (react).
After some problems with his gear and some inactivity during the end of 2001 Ruben worked more for the opportunity to start his own label.
The love to the experimental and freaky scene was growing and "Chicago" got changed with the sound of "Edinburgh /Brighton".
This scene was a kind of a key to a new chapter in his musical career and has brought him very close to the people behind.
Now heīs spending more time on electro, working on an upcoming release..
Kondi001 got released in May 2002 and got some fine reviews.. You might not be able to track down a copy today - they are all gone and strictly limited to 400 copies.
"Well, I had the feeling that moving to capital city, Copenhagen in Denmark, should bring me a lot of inspiration.
Until now I have been forced to buy records over the Internet, listening to these records, listening to different radio shows and travelling to parties around the country.
At that time all the releases were produced without speaking to somebody face to face - or getting tips and tricks.
I thought moving to Copenhagen would have brought me a lot more... which it really has not!?
The scene here in Denmark is so small when it comes to this special style or experimental electronic music in general so unfortunately Im not that active Djing or making live acts...
I have a few friends that adore the same stuff as I do and only they know exactly what Iīm doing, so itīs funny to be working as the unknown artist here in DK.
Itīs definitely okay with me... I dont think this will change.
Somehow people seem more interested in "house" at the moment...
Thatīs why I am thankful to know a lot of people around the world who share the same interest and love for electronic music in general, in this case brighton-techno and electro."
